As CAMHS professionals we must make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. (CQC Purpose and Role)

Person centred Care

Is the service provided offers patients with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and is my service constantly  improving ?

Dignity and respect

Does your service treat patients with  dignity and respect at all times while  receiving care and treatment.

This includes making sure:

  • patient privacy when they need and want it.
  • Everybody is treated as equals.
  • Patients are  given any support they need to help remain independent and involved in their  local community.

Consent

Does your service have a consent policy ?(or anybody legally acting on patient's behalf) .

Patient must give their consent before any care or treatment is given by the clinical service.

Safety

Your service must not be given unsafe care or treatment or put  patients at risk of harm that could be avoided.

Providers must assess the risks to patients health and safety during any care or treatment and make sure their staff have the qualifications, competence, skills and experience to keep patients safe.

Staffing

The provider of patient care must have enough suitably qualified, competent and experienced staff to make sure they can meet these standards.

 Staff must be given the support, training and supervision they need to help them do their job.

Safeguarding from abuse

Patients must not suffer any form of abuse or improper treatment while receiving care.

This includes:

  • Neglect
  • Degrading treatment
  • Unnecessary or disproportionate restraint
  • Inappropriate limits on your freedom

Fit and proper staff

The provider of patient care must only employ people who can provide care and treatment appropriate to their role. They must have strong recruitment procedures in place and carry out relevant checks such as on applicants' criminal records and work history.

🆕Full diagnostic assessment , risk assessment and treatment plan with a range of CYP mental health problems, such as oppositional defiant disorder , depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorders ( 1 and 2) ,Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, separation anxiety disorder , specific phobias, selective mutism,social anxiety disorder , panic attacks ,agoraphobia , generalised anxiety disorder,skin picking disorder , hair-pulling disorder , body dysmorphic disorder,substance misuse, Gaming Disorder, Attachment Disorder ,Grief Disorder , dissociative identity disorder ,conversion disorder ,anorexia nervosa , bulimia nervosa, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex  PTSD , personality disorders , Autism Spectrum Disorders , Trichotillomania , attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ,  (ADHD), social (pragmatic) communication disorders,Specific Learning Disorders,Developmental Coordination Disorder,Tic Disorders.

I will liaise with your GP , school , local CAMHS and am able to offer flexible follow-up appointments to monitor clinical progress.

 Appointments can take place face to face in our partner clinic (CQC registered) or remotely via video conference including weekends , school holidays and Bank Holiday weekends.🆕

 

 

Food and drink

Does your service ensure  that patients have enough to eat and drink to keep them in good health while they receive care and treatment.

 

 

 

Duty of candour

The provider of patient care must be open and transparent with them about their care and treatment.

Should something go wrong, they must tell the patient what has happened, provide support and apologise.

  • Being competent .You must be competent in all aspects of your work including, where applicable, formal leadership or management roles, research and teaching.

  • You must have the necessary knowledge of the English language to provide a good standard of practice and care in the UK.
  • You must provide a good standard of practice and care. If you assess, diagnose, or treat patients, you must work in partnership with patients to assess their needs and priorities. The investigation or treatment you propose, provide or arrange must be based on this assessment, and on your clinical judgement about the likely effectiveness of the treatment options.
  • You must provide safe and effective clinical care whether face to face, or through remote consultations via telephone, video link, or other online services. If you can’t provide safe care through the mode of consultation you’re using, you should offer an alternative if available, or signpost to other services.
  • Continuity of care is important for all patients, but especially those who may struggle to navigate their healthcare journey or advocate for themselves.
  • Continuity is particularly important when care is shared between teams, between different members of the same team, or when patients are transferred between care providers.
  • You must promptly share all relevant information about patients (including any reasonable adjustments and communication support preferences) with others involved in their care, within and across teams, as required.
  • You must share information with patients about: i. the progress of their care ii. who is responsible for which aspect of their care iii. the name of the lead clinician or team with overall responsibility for their care.
  • You must be confident that information necessary for ongoing care has been shared: i. before you go off duty ii. before you delegate care, or iii. before you refer the patient to another health or social care provider.
  • You must check, where practical, that a named clinician or team has taken over responsibility when your role in a patient’s care has ended. Delegating safely and appropriately
  • You must be confident that any person you delegate to has the necessary knowledge, skills and training to carry out the task you’re delegating. You must give them clear instructions and encourage them to ask questions and seek support or supervision if they need it.
